Larry DePrimo, a police officer from NYPD on the cold night of November 14th, found a homeless man and seeing how cold he himself felt wearing thermal socks and combat boots went into a sketchers and bought the homeless man a pair of thermal socks and a pair of shoes worth $75 which he helped put on the man. He kept the receipt as a reminder for himself, “that sometimes people have it worse.” The two didn’t so much as exchange names. DePrimo has become a national hero.
